Start submissionAuthor Guidelines
The Journal Kardiologiia sees its mission in ensuring the highest quality of published scientific materials. In its work, the editors strive to adhere to strict adherence to the principles of editorial ethics set forth in the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the International Committee on Ethics of Scientific Publications (Committee on Publication Ethics - COPE), as well as in Chapter 70 “Copyright” of the Civil Code RF.
GENERAL INFORMATION.
The following categories of articles are accepted into the journal Kardiologiia:
• Clinical trials involving healthy volunteers or patients.
• Basic research and preclinical studies
• Clinical trial brief report
• Systematic review and systematic review with meta-analysis
• Clinical cases
• Clinical recommendations and Position paper under the auspices of professional communities
Clinical trials involving healthy volunteers or patients.
Authors should indicate (preferably in the title of the work) what type of research presented in the article belongs to:
• Interventional trial (randomized/non-randomized, prospective/retrospective
• Observational trial
• Prognostic trials
• Pharmacoeconomic trial
Basic research and preclinical studies
The results of basic researchers and preclinical studies in cardiology will be considered for publication, provided that they have obvious clinical significance. Scientific articles in the field of basic research are defined as articles that describe studies performed on experimental animals or cells / tissues in vitro.
Clinical trial brief report
A short summary is required. Additional online material is permitted, especially for additional relevant methods or results. For additional relevant methods or results, illustrative materials may be published online on the journal website.
Systematic review and systematic review with meta-analysis
The editorial board of the Journal of Kardiologiia supports the definition of a scientific review as an important part of the scientific knowledge. Accordingly, the methodology for creating review articles for the journal “Kardiologiia” must comply with the principles and standards adopted in leading medical journals. According to S.A. Azer "A scientific review describes the latest achievements on a particular topic, critically reviews the status of literary sources and provides an analysis of sources, and also identifies gaps in knowledge and directions for future research" [1].
Due to the fact that the Journal of Kardiologiia strives to provide readers with materials of the highest quality and scientific significance, the editorial board will give preference to reviews in the form of systematic analyzes.
When writing systematic reviews, unlike descriptive literature reviews, a methodology is used that can significantly reduce the likelihood of erroneous conclusions due to incomplete information. Systematic review refers to the application of strategies that limit bias in the collection, critical appraisal, and synthesis of research on a particular topic. A systematic review may include a quantitative synthesis of the results of individual peer studies using meta-analysis. A systematic review usually answers a specific clinical question, for the answer to which literature sources are searched and selected according to clear criteria.
Thus, a review submitted to the journal Kardiologiia must comply with the following rules:
• The review should be structured
• The urgency of the problem should be reflected
• The purpose of the review should be clearly stated.
• Methods of collecting information should be indicated: platforms, sites, total number of viewed works; keywords, authors, etc., for which the sample was made, are presented.
• The main part of the review should present the essence of the found works, and reflect the contradictions of the authors who hold different views on the problem under discussion.
• The discussion should include the opinion of the author of the review, coinciding or not coinciding with the opinion of the authors of the works cited in the review. It is also possible to evaluate the adequacy of the statistical methods used and to give a critical assessment of the works under discussion.
• The review should end with conclusions summarizing existing knowledge gaps and identify directions for future research.
• The review must be free of any bias, and the authors of the review must disclose any conflicts of interest.
Clinical cases
When describing a clinical case, it is obligatory to provide the results of laboratory and instrumental methods of research. The presence of illustrations is welcome. The descriptive part of the manuscript should be small.
Clinical recommendations and Position paper under the auspices of professional communities
These documents should summarize the current state of the problem and ways to solve it (in the opinion of the professional community or a group of experts), contain links to relevant studies, recommendations for assessing the reliability of the evidence and the strength of the recommendations.
HOW TO SUBMIT A MANUSCRIPT
The Kardiologiia uses a system of submission and review of articles via the Internet. Such a system facilitates the submission of manuscripts from authors and simplifies the process of reviewing and publishing. Select the “Submit Article” button and follow the instructions.

ETHICAL CONSIDERATION
The Kardiologiia Journal follows the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and when submitting a manuscript information should be provided on the existence of potential conflicts of interest for each author. Such conflicts may include, among other things, obtaining a share, or a full grant, or a consultant's fee from a company whose product appears in the file of the manuscript, or which produces a competing product. This information must be indicated in the cover letter. Materials without related information about conflicts of interest will not be sent for peer review. The presence or absence of a conflict of interest should also be reflected in the manuscript after the “Gratitude” section and contain generalized information on the conflicts of interest included in the cover letter. If there is no conflict of interest, authors should state “Conflict of Interest: Not Declared.”
The condition for publication in the journal Cardiology is that the author provides exclusive rights to this manuscript to the publisher and grants the journal the right to first publish the work under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License, which allows others to distribute this work with the obligatory preservation of links to the authors of the original work and the original publication in this journal. Introduction The text of the introduction should contain a brief description of the problem, which is devoted to the study and justification of the relevance of the work
Central illustration and brief abstract
The central illustration is intended to increase readers' attention to the publication by summarizing for the reader in a simple and understandable way the main ideas of the article. Having an attractive and clear central illustration increases the likelihood of drawing the attention of colleagues to your article. The central illustrations are often used in presentations at scientific congresses and in social networks, accompanied by a link to the article.
The Journal of Kardiologiia will use the central presentation of your article to promote it through the telegram channel of the Society for Heart Failure Specialists.
The central presentation for the original study is a graphical summary of the methodology and main findings of the study. A good visual abstract should be easy to understand for those who do not work in the field. (Picture 1)

Introduction
The text of the introduction should contain a brief description of the problem, which is devoted to the study and justification of the relevance of the work.
Materials and methods
The main task of the “Materials and Methods” section is to provide the clearest possible presentation of the design and research methods in order to ensure reproducible results. The methods and procedures of the study, as well as the equipment (with the manufacturer's name in parentheses), are described in as much detail as necessary so that other researchers can reproduce the results. When describing the research methodology, it is mandatory to include: inclusion / exclusion criteria, ethical aspects of the study, description of the randomization method, primary and secondary endpoints of the study, description of statistical analysis methods. Authors are advised to use appropriate guidelines for the reporting structure depending on the type of research provided by EQUATOR NETWORK. This will ensure that you provide enough information for editors, reviewers and readers to evaluate how the research was done and the accuracy of your findings. Recommendations and checklists for various types of research can be found in the section “To help the author”, as well as on the website “EQUATOR NETWORK”.
Statistical analysis
The design and analysis of the data should be briefly but clearly described in the “Methods” section. The program used should be indicated, the level of significance and the fact that it is two-way (this is the rule). If possible, use standard methods. Whenever rare or new statistical methods are used, a reference should be given. If unusually complex or innovative methods are used, it is recommended to give a detailed description as “additional material” for interested readers. For research with a complex design, the participation of professional statistics is recommended.
Ethical aspects of publications
The “Materials and Methods” section should include a statement indicating that the study was approved by the responsible ethics committee (institution or national) or exempt from the need for this assessment. In the absence of a formal ethics committee, this statement indicates that the study was conducted in accordance with the principles of the Helsinki Declaration.
Results
Clearly describe the study population, including the number of patients who left and the reasons for withdrawal from the study, as well as deviations from the protocol. All data on the primary and secondary endpoints declared in the “Methods” section should be presented. In this case, the text should provide only the most important data, and for a more complete presentation of the data, use tables and figures. Check that the data and the captions of the figures and tables match the text of the article. Describe any changes in test hypotheses or end points that occurred during or after the end of the study.
Discussion
Start by listing the main results, state the benefits of the study and its limitations. Describe what contribution your work makes to already existing knowledge in this field. Briefly conclude whether the results you obtained are consistent with the results of similar studies. Analyze the limitations of the study and indicate how the limitations of this study can be overcome.
Acknowledgments. The significant contribution of individuals should be noted in the “Gratitude” section, before declaring a conflict of interest.
Conflict of interest
When submitting an article for publication, all authors must make an official statement indicating any possible conflict of interest, including that related to the financing of the work, at any stage.
If there is no conflict of interest, then it is written: "No conflict of interest is declared."
Funding information
This section contains information about research funding and contains full details of funding sources. Research grant (required to indicate the number of the grant and the name of the organization that issued it) or government assignment (required to indicate the institution).
Figures and tables
The editors have the right to change the design of graphs, figures and tables in order to bring them into line with the standard of the journal, as well as the right to make literary corrections without changing the meaning of the information provided. Tables must contain compressed, necessary data. Each table is numbered and must have a name. The data presented in the table should strictly correspond to the data given in the text. Providing tables in the form of images is not allowed. Figures are numbered, should have a name and should not repeat the materials presented in the tables.
References
The bibliography is subject to review. In order to shorten the editorial processing time (the article will be sent to the author for revision if there is an unidentifiable reference to the source), the following rules are recommended when compiling the list of references:
• whenever possible, use the format of the link, which is given by the publication (mark "for citation / for citation");
• the list of references is formed in the order of citing.
• Be sure to include the DOI if it is not assigned - the ISSN (ISBN) / PMID (PMCID) of the cited source. In case of necessity to refer to a certain fundamental scientific work that does not have generally accepted identifying indices, a comment should be made in the cover letter explaining its inclusion in the citation list.
It is enough to cite the names of six authors, after which for domestic sources it is necessary to indicate “et al.”, And for foreign sources, “et al.”. The imprint of articles from journals are described as follows: surname, initials, article title, source name, year, volume, number, pages (from and to). When describing the imprint of articles from the collections indicate the name and initials of the authors, the title of the article, the title of the collection, the place of publication, year of publication, page

ATTENTION! References to abstracts of dissertations, materials of conferences and symposia are not accepted. Also, any links to materials from the Internet are not accepted. In accordance with generally accepted practice, the editors recommend adhering to the following rules:
• References to your own work should not be more than 10% of the entire list of references.
• List the fundamental work in the area to which your research relates. Use the most current and up-to-date data.
References to the literature in tables and figures are not allowed. If necessary, the source is given after the link to the table or figure in the text of the article. Example: In table 3 [27] or (table 3 [27])
DOI - Digital Object Identifier, Digital Object Identifier or Digital Object Identifier, a standard for designating information on an object of intellectual property represented on a network. It is desirable that the DOI of the articles you cited be indicated, even if you refer to the printed version of the article. DOI articles can be found at this link.
Supporting materials
Supporting materials that are not significant enough to be included in the full manuscript, but would still be useful to readers, may be published by the publisher on the site with a link to the online manuscript. The material should not be essential for understanding the conclusions of the article, but should contain additional data directly related to the content of the article. Such information may include a more detailed description of the methods, extended data sets / detailed data analysis, a list of researchers or additional numerical data. All materials that should be considered as additional should be submitted along with the master manuscript for peer review. You cannot change or replace the data after the document has been accepted for publication. Please clearly indicate the material used as additional data when submitting the work. Also make sure that additional data is mentioned in the main manuscript, if necessary.
PROCEDURE FOR SELECTING MANUSCRIPTS FOR REVIEW
