<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The novel coronavirus infection, COVID-19, is a highly contagious viral disease associated with acute, severe respiratory syndrome, which is based on the development of pronounced thrombo-inflammatory syndrome. As the number of patients with COVID-19 increased, heart damage has been reported, especially in patients with severe and critical COVID-19. This review describes the role of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 receptor in the regulation of viral entry, the variety of damages to the heart and coronary arteries, and the importance of arterial hypertension and of the use of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitors in the prognosis of patients with COVID-19.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Новая коронавирусная инфекция COVID-19</kwd><kwd>острое повреждение сердца</kwd><kwd>миокардит</kwd><kwd>коронарные тромбозы</kwd><kwd>сердечная недостаточность</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Novel coronavirus infection COVID-19</kwd><kwd>acute heart injury</kwd><kwd>myocarditis</kwd><kwd>coronary thromboses</kwd><kwd>heart failure</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">Конфликт интересов не заявлен.</funding-statement><funding-statement xml:lang="en">No conflict of interest is reported.</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Shi S, Qin M, Shen B, Cai Y, Liu T, Yang F et al.
